(Albert Cesare/The Cincinnati Enquirer via AP) A woman is comforted by authorities stationed outside the University of Cincinnati Medical Center's Emergency room following a shooting in downtown Cincinnati that left at least four dead, including the gunman, and several injured on September 6, 2018. It was unclear if the gunman shot himself or was shot by officers.

"This is a horrific incident", Isaac said.

Hundreds have gathered in Cincinnati to remember the three people killed and the two injured in a downtown office shooting this week.

Surveillance video of the incident released on Friday shows 29-year-old Omar Perez walking through the bank lobby with a Taurus 9 mm semi-automatic handgun pointed forward. The cops have also recovered a pistol and more than 200 rounds of ammunition from the gunman, who died on spot.

The gunman wasn't identified, and police didn't comment on possible motive. "Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone caught up in this awful event", the statement says.

The gunman entered Fifth Third bank around 9 a.m. through a loading dock and opened fire in the lobby, according to police chief Eliot Isaac. He said Perez has lived in the Cincinnati area since at least 2015.

"This is not normal, and it shouldn't be viewed as normal".

John Cranley, the city's mayor, said the violence "could have been much, much worse" were if not for the rapid response of police, adding that officers appeared to be on the scene within "seconds". "I think there's something deeply sick at work here".

Cincinnati Police say two additional victims were sent to area hospitals, but they do not have information on their conditions.
