A tropical storm warning is in effect for St. Lucia, Barbados, Dominica, Guadeloupe, and Martinique.

"Interests elsewhere in the central and northern Lesser Antilles should monitor the progress of Kirk", the NHC said, adding that "on the forecast track, the center of Kirk will move across the Lesser Antilles within the tropical storm warning area by this evening". Heading into the weekend, Tropical Storm Kirk is expected to run into some robust wind shear which is forecast to zap its strength as it transforms into a "remnant low pressure system", NHC said. Satellite and radar imagery continue to indicate that some pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms are still likely during the next 12 to 24 hours.

Maximum sustained winds remain near 50 mph...85km/h, with tropical-storm-force winds extending outward up to 120 miles (190 km) to the east and north of the center, and 110 miles (175 km) to the southeast of the center. Rapid weakening is expected on Friday after Kirk moves over the eastern Caribbean Sea.
