The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced that they are expecting their first baby.

Harry and Meghan married in May 2018 in a grand ceremony at Windsor Castle outside London.

The child will be seventh in line to the throne.

Rachael Spratt from Canterbury tweeted: "Prince Harry and Meghan are expecting their first child next year, let's hope it's a girl and I can set my child up with it, in a bid to finally meet the royal family".

Prince Harry and his new, former film and television actress wife, Meghan, arrived in Sydney on Monday for their first overseas tour as a royal couple.

"The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted for the couple and were able to congratulate them on Friday at the wedding in person", the statement revealed.

The royal couple and are now in Australia on their first overseas tour.

The sporting event founded by Prince Harry in 2014 gives sick and injured service personnel and veterans the opportunity to compete in sports such as wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball.

In the run-up to their wedding, Meghan hinted at starting her own brood with Harry.

Harry and Markle's kids could also go by the hyphenated last name, Mountbatten-Windsor - which, technically, is the official surname for all descendants of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
