The victor of the White Out will take sole possession of the Big Ten East lead with the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions both sitting at 4-0.

The teams traded three and outs after that, until Garrett Taylor intercepted a Haskins pass and returned it 45 yards to the Ohio State 28.

This hit is far from as violent as it seems, but according to the rulebook any hit to the head can be targeting, thus taking the decision out of the hands of referee.

Trailing by five points, Ohio State started at its 4 after Blake Gillikin's terrific punt and quickly moved down the field. But they don't have much a say based on the technicalities. Haskins hit K.J. Hill with a quick pass to the outside and the receiver picked up a couple of blocks, broke a tackle and went in for a 24-yard score that made it 27-26 with 2:03 left.

The Buckeyes (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) were out-gained by 100 yards and trailed 26-14 midway through the second quarter, but Dwayne Haskins tossed two late touchdown passes, engineering a 96-yard game-winning touchdown drive, to give Ohio State a crucial win in the Big Ten East race and the inside track to returning to the College Football Playoff.

Miles Sanders gets tackled for a loss on fourth down by Chase Young as the Buckeyes take over and hold on for a 27-26 win.

Sanders had done very little all night, finishing with 43 yards on 16 carries.

Ohio State survived one of the most hostile environments in the country and while the performance wasn't ideal, it was a flawless example of how a championship team responds to adversity.

"Trace played a phenomenal game", wide receiver Juwan Johnson said. Sure enough, it was as Ohio State took a 14-13 lead into the fourth quarter after overcoming a 13-0 deficit in the second quarter.

The largest crowd in Penn State history - 110,889 - stood quiet and deflated following the play.

"Obviously we should have called something different", Franklin said.

He finished the game 22-of-39 passing for 270 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Penn State never would have had a chance to pick up that second first down had it not gotten the original pass interference call.

Getting over that loss may be harder than Franklin thinks. Miles Sanders was quiet with 43 yards on 16 carries and Juwan Johnson and Brandon Polk were inconsistent catching the ball beyond Juwan's unbelievable one-handed grab. He deserves it. In a losing effort, McSorley accounted for 461 of Penn State's 496 yards of offense. Haskins completed just 7-of-16 passes for 62 yards after beginning the game completing 76 percent of his passes.

"It's not going to happen again", Franklin said.
